Jewish activity books, printables and classroom resources

A little light for little hands.

Little Lamp makes small, joyful things a family or a teacher can use. Warm for every kind of Jewish family, and checked for accuracy before it reaches you.

Nolly, our friendly nightlight mascot, waving hello

Hi, I'm Nolly.

A little light is enough to start.

One small flame lights a child's curiosity, then a family, then a whole classroom. It grows when it is shared. That is the idea behind everything we make.

We start with the Jewish holidays and stay for the everyday: the table, the classroom, the grandparent on a video call, the ten minutes before bed.

Made for the people at the table

Our books and printables are for children ages 5 to 8, and for the grown-ups who sit beside them.

Families

Jewish families who keep every tradition, and families trying one for the first time. Interfaith families are not an afterthought; they are a reason we write the way we do.

Grandparents

You are visiting, or you are far away, and you want something real to do together. Many pages have a short note for grown-ups and a question to ask the children.

Educators and schools

Hebrew school, Sunday school, early childhood, libraries and synagogue programs. Clear pages that work on a busy morning, with classroom sets planned for you.

What we make

Simple things, made carefully, one holiday at a time.

Activity and coloring books

Big, clear pictures to color, plus mazes, matching games and puzzles. One short instruction per page that a child can follow at first read. Our first book, a Hanukkah activity and coloring book, is nearly ready.

Printables

Pages to print and use at the table, on the fridge or on the classroom wall, made from the same artwork as our books. These follow our first book.

Classroom resources

Sets for teachers are planned under the name Little Lamp Classroom. Books will live under Little Lamp Books. More, like kits and games, will follow when they are ready.

How we work

Three promises we hold ourselves to.

  1. Warm

We welcome every kind of Jewish home. Some families light at the window, some at the table. We say so, and we never lecture.

  2. Accurate

Our Jewish content goes through a review for accuracy, and every Hebrew word in our books and printables is set in a real Hebrew font and proofread letter by letter. We call it reviewed only when it has been.

  3. Safe for children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our email list, when it opens, is for parents and educators only.

Our year follows the Jewish calendar

The holidays set our rhythm. We plan about ten weeks ahead of each one, so what you need is ready before the holiday arrives.

  • Rosh Hashanah
  • Yom Kippur
  • Sukkot
  • Hanukkah
  • Tu BiShvat
  • Purim
  • Passover
  • Shavuot
  • Shabbat, every week

Hanukkah is first on our table this year.
